REFERENCE GUIDE
U-100 Syringe Capacity
This page explains capacity and printed scale relationships used by the calculator. It does not recommend a syringe, dose, or administration method.
U-100 relationship
On a U-100 scale, 100 units corresponds to 1 mL of liquid volume. Therefore 30U corresponds to 0.3 mL, 50U to 0.5 mL, and 100U to 1 mL.
30U syringe
Maximum displayed endpoint: 30U. Nominal volume capacity: 0.3 mL.
50U syringe
Maximum displayed endpoint: 50U. Nominal volume capacity: 0.5 mL.
100U syringe
Maximum displayed endpoint: 100U. Nominal volume capacity: 1 mL.
Verify the physical device
Graduation patterns can vary. Read the units and endpoint printed on the syringe in hand, and confirm any uncertainty with a licensed clinician or pharmacist.
